May 12, 2021

May is moving along and the small garden is growing. The temperatures have been lower than usual and the air dry.

Two days ago I ate the first blueberry from my new blueberry bush. It was so good.

I’m also now waiting for strawberries to ripen. I think they will wait until it warms up outside.

I’ve been working on my pattern work. Last week I spent most of my time working on the files. Learning more about using the tools in Illustrator.

Tossed Leaves is the first pattern I created in Immersion 2021. It is on Spoonflower but waiting for me to see the proof. I began this pattern in very early spring and looked at my lawn for different leaves. Not much was growing except a few very small weeds, so I picked what I could and took a couple of leaves from my house plants as well. I placed the leaves on the scanner and scanned them to my computer. Then I learned how to vectorize, color and use them in a pattern. This is called a scattered pattern. It was a fun project. I will definitely enjoy using fabric with this pattern.

Lately I’ve been tired a lot but sleeping well. I just finished reading a book called. The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. I enjoyed it very much and think I would love reading more by this author.

That’s all I’m going to write for today. Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed a peak into my life. BTW, my website is having an overhaul, so not much there right now.

Love and Blessings,

Hanna
