Happy first of May. Here’s a snippet on what I’ll be working on this month. I hope you like it.
Spring is full of hope and promise. The beauty of the new season begins to unfold. It’s only the beginning but already it’s glorious.
Depression and anxiety are things that happen to me. I’ve had them all my life and grief seems to enhance them. I’ve found it good to stay busy but I’m not good at balance. Making art and sharing it has helped a ton. Picking a subject and following my curiosity with it has been helpful in keeping me focused. Like a good boss it leads me and directs me to be the best ladybug representative I can be. I’ll be working on my website this month where I’ll be setting up a shop for you so that you will be able to bring my art into your home. I’m really excited about it and I’m working to get it right. Several of you want to see the spotted ladybugs emerge and I think it is high time they do. Red spotted ladybugs will be showing up.
Grief is here to stay. One simply does not get over such tremendous loss. Eventually you find a new way to live in spite of it. Depression comes and goes and seems closer at times than I would like. It’s a daily or weekly thing. I do things specifically to assist with keeping it at a distance, like keeping the lights on in the house. Light therapy is an actual thing. Learning new things is also helpful.
Anxiety. We’ve got scriptures about it, so I keep that in constant prayer before the Lord. He doesn’t mind how many times a day or hour I remind Him that I need His divine help yet making art every day is great therapy. Careless, happy, curious, playful art.
Enjoying your child’s hamburger stacking skills is also great therapy. Watching her eat that might not be so good for anxiety.
Have you found ways to help with depression and anxiety? I would love to hear from you. Please share in the comments. Thank you for reading and following along. As always you can find Elsie’s Easter book and Coloring and Activity book on Amazon.com. If you purchased my books please remember to leave a review. It really helps.
Love and blessings,
Hanna
For as the earth brings forth its bud, as the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. Isaiah 61:11
As you find art therapy, so I find writing therapy, especially in recent experiences of grief. That plus reading Scripture.
Thank you Marjory, I read your latest blog post. It’s beautiful and I left a comment. I have been writing my way through these past seven years. I can’t seem to keep it out of my posts even though I don’t set out to write about it. It just wants to be told. Love and blessings
Lovely to read this Hanna. I love your garden and your art. Thanks for sharing
Praying for God to support you through the depression and bring you through to the finding of joy in each day.
Blessings
