The crocus is a small flower that pops up from a bulb in early spring. Each year the flower surprises me with its early arrival and I make time to snap lots of pictures before they disappear for another year. This watercolor painting started out as a sketch in my travel sketchbook. I sketched from several pictures I had taken in early spring. This painting is now a print and was featured in my monthly calendar freebee for my newsletter subscribers in February 2025. You can purchase the print here.
I used more of those pictures to sketch directly into my computer using my Wacom tablet and arranged them into a pattern. Then added an alternate background color before creating different scales and uploading them to Spoonflower. Click on the pictures to learn more about them.
