Goals End of 2021

Goals I have for this last quarter;

This is the 4th week in the last quarter of 2012. I have some goals for this quarter. First on my list is to visit my mother, which I did the 15th and 16th of October. I took my lovely child Cas, AKA Chloe.

My lovely Cas boarding the plane to Canada.

A bonus to this trip was also a special visit with my beautiful sister. I hadn’t seen my mother for ten years and my sister even longer, around 14 years. The trip was the result of a lot of work and a ton of prayer and my heart is full of gratitude for that time.

Mother and me.

My mother is 94 years old now and seeing her was an emotional experience. She has become tiny and frail, using a walker and giving most of her care over to professionals and of course my sister, yet her exuberant and strong spirit remains the same.

Mums Violets. She is still taking care of a few plants which she always did so well.

Nearly blind and hearing with the help of a hearing aid she talks a lot about the days gone by and remarkably about her good memories. She walks with the help of a walker down the hall to get a hot meal three times a day and visits with the others in the common room, remembering their names and easily recalling their specific situations.

Fog, low clouds and rain made it difficult for us to get good pictures.

Though she has lived in many places and countries the great Fraser Valley in beautiful British Columbia is where she is home. Cas and I were taken by the beauty of the mountains and the colors this time of year.

The view from our dining room.

I didn’t get many pictures due to heavy fog, rain and clouds. We also came close to the ocean but didn’t have time to put our feet in it.

This is as close as we came to the ocean. Bitter cold, drizzling and nearly dark, we decided to head back to the car.

The stay ended with a lovely shared dessert in the Sheraton Hotel in Richmond BC Canada.

New patterns I’m working on;

My goal is to make 5-10 patterns each month. I started the year with 33 patterns on Spoonflower and planned to have 100 by years end. This month I passed the 100 pattern mark. Wahoo! In October I have made 11 patterns so far. In September I ended up adding 18 new patterns to Spoonflower, and Society6. Some of them also went to Redbubble. Proofs came in October just before I left for B.C. and they looked great.

Tossed Leaves and White Flowers still have some edits coming. I will be adding smaller versions of the White Flowers and larger ones of the Tossed Leaves plus some color edits. It has been difficult sharing my work while I’m doing the work. There are also times when my fibromyalgia turns me into a recluse, though I’m determined to get the better of it. It hasn’t been easy to figure the website side of it out, but I think I’m getting there. Hopefully I manage to keep bringing you along on this journey.

What I’m reading now;

Both books are great reads. I enjoy reading in the morning after my journal while I have my coffee. I’d like to keep you abreast of my reading. I am not using affiliate links with Amazon since they took that away from me. They do that if no one clicks on your links after a period of time. I will perhaps try again after I become consistent with blogging. Both books are on Amazon.

Thank you for reading. Let me know if you went on an adventure recently. Where did you go? Was it to see a loved one? We’d love to read about it in the comments.

Love and blessings
