The 100 Day Art Project

The 100 day project sounds daunting, yet it’s only a few minutes each day. Irina Trzaskos Skillshare class announcements came into my inbox. I always make sure to read her emails and what a fun way to launch me back into daily painting.

In June I did really well only missing a few days from my start date.

July and the first part of August I moved my art table to a larger room and added a computer desk. Even though moving was a lot of work and took a lot of days, it meant that my art table is dedicated to art and it is worth it.

I am able to spread out and try new things now that I have more space.

My new space.

Currently I’m at day 42/100. The subjects Irina chose for this challenge are varied and interesting. Watching her paint these and talk about her process is helpful. I hope to be a better painter at the end of the 100 days. (at the end of 100 little paintings, because I’m not so consistent)

How do you feel about challenges? Do you feel that they could propel you into some new habit and/or get you back on track?

This is numbers 1 – 30. Even though I have painted more of them, I took so long to write this post, (one and a half months to be honest), that I had to draw the line somewhere. I thought it would be fun to include future paintings in the upcoming posts, which I will try to be more consistent with.

We would love to hear from you. Let us know in the comments if you have been trying to learn a new skill or taking part in an artistic challenge.

Thank you for reading my blog post.

Love and blessings, Hanna McCown

  1. You inspire me every day! Every day I get home from work, eat, sometimes I am able to force myself to go for a walk, and then crawl into my most comfortable spot and watch TV till I fall asleep! Weekends I spend recouping from the week! I was like a robot going thru the motions! Recently I have pulled out my crafts and try to do at least 1/2 hour every evening! It’s amazing what I am accomplishing! Thank you sis for your example always love following and looking up to you as my peer! Love you forever and always!! Keep smiling – you have a most beautiful smile 😊
